The Credit Bureau of Lewiston-Clarkston (CBLC) has been providing professional debt collection services since 1922. Accounts listed with the CBLC for collection will be given a level of personal service not available from large automated collection agencies. Our collectors will work closely with the debtor to obtain payment while being mindful of the individual and the difficult circumstances they may have. This approach results in a high level of recovery for our clients while at the same time preserving our clients goodwill with the debtor.
At the CBLC we are licensed to collect debts in the states of Washington and Idaho. If you would like to place an account outside these states we can also service accounts nationwide through our affiliation with the American Collectors Association.
Our in-house collectors are highly experienced and are trained to operate in complete compliance with the "Fair Debt Collection Practices Act" and all other state and federal laws. You can also feel comfortable knowing that our company is licensed, bonded, insured and maintains independently verified trust accounts for all client funds.
The cost for service with the CBLC is calculated on a commission only basis. This means if we don't recover any money, there is no charge to you the client.
The national average for consumer collection recovery is about 18%. At the CBLC we typically recover much higher than the national average (often over 30%) depending on the type of account, the age of the account, and the amount of information provided.
If it is determined that a court judgment is necessary to continue collection the CBLC is well equipped to handle the legal process. The CBLC maintains a knowledgeable in-house legal department to assist in the filing process. In addition, we have attorneys on retainer in both Washington and Idaho to represent us during any legal proceedings.
